General Information
Euro-Mediterranean Center for Cross-Cultural Dialgue has been informally estalished in the summer of 2007 with the support of the Euro-Med Youth Platform, after first two young Bulgarians joined the Euro-Med Youth Parliament in Berlin in June 2007. STRUCTURE: EMCCCD is guided by the decisions of the General Assembly, managed by a Board, following the program, designed by the International Bureau. The General Assembly is responsible for managing the organisation in areas such as the definition of EMCCCD annual work programme and the approval of the budget. It is composed of one elected representative from each national coordinator and meets once a year. Each national coordination organization regularly elects one board member who constitutes the link between the associated members in the country and the EMCCCD secretariat in Bulgaria. All organizational members have the right to participate in the General Assembly with one representative. The EMCCCD Bureau is composed of seven international members elected by the Board, which have the task of monitoring the daily managerial aspects of our network. Sources of funding: European Comission; Council of Europe; Open Spciety Fund; The World Bank; the Central European Initiative Modalities of action: training courses, summer schools, conferences, cultural exchanges and art events, workshops, seminars, individual and group volunteer programs; Euro- Mediterranean mobility) Main partners involved in the organization's projects/activities: Formally established in 2008 as the first youth organization with Euro-Mediterranean focus, registered in Bulgaria, now EMCCCD is an international youth network that unifies 73 collective (youth NGOs and non-formal groups) and 112 individual members from 43 European and Mediterranean countries.
Mission and Objectives

 Inter-religious dialogue
In EMCCCD’s view, dialogue is based on firm foundations and general rules, as well as on three considerations, namely :
 Mutual respect
 Equity and justice
 Rejection of fanaticism and hatred
Objectives:
o Working towards understanding diversity and diversity management towards social cohesion and social inclusion. Actions also address the need of creating new instruments to value market and non-market benefits of diversity and integrate diversity consideration into policy-making.
o Promoting diversity, knowledge production and creativity for the benefits of community asset building and community development.

Mission and Objectives

ECYC represents a European network of youth work and youth club organisations that practice and promote open youth work and non-formal education. The organisation has at its heart the supporting of youth clubs and other forms of neighbourhood youth work.
Involving young people and helping them participate actively in their community is the leading principle of Open Youth Work as delivered by ECYC members. ECYC uses open youth work and non-formal education methods in providing young people with the skills and knowledge to make their own informed decisions.
At ECYC, we believe that young people have the right to pick and choose for themselves. Therefore young people need to be supported and empowered to develop their own values and attitudes.

The main activities run by ECYC are centered around learning seminars and trainings, the main themes being Human Rights, intercultural learning. The organization also runs events tailored to the specific needs of the member organizations (2013 some of the themes were: measuring the impact of open youth work, sexual education and quality of youth work). The organisation also develops and publishes materials related to training and education. For instance in 2015 our main trainings are related to: Human RIghts, Intercultural learning and working with migrant youth.

Fields of Activity

General Information
COME Foundation is a private Dutch foundation that organizes annually an 11 day dialogue seminar for young Palestinians and Israelis (20-35 years old), providing them with the opportunity to encounter, dialogue, and familiarize with each other. Such seminars have been organized by the COME foundation since 1976 under the name Midden Oosten Communicatie Project, which became ‘Stichting COME’ in 1993. A group of 30 young adults participates yearly in the seminar. Participants are comprised of three groups of origin: Jewish Israelis, Palestinian citizens of Israel and Palestinians residing in the occupied Palestinian territories. COME Foundation has a Dutch board, which guarantees the continuity of the organization of the seminars and raises financial resources for this. The board members are involved on a voluntary basis. Two advisers, connected to the foundation for years, can help determine the vision. One Dutch paid project leader (0,3 fte, hired on a freelance basis) carries out the actual organization of the dialogue seminar and other connected tasks. The resources available yearly are around € 45.000, received from churches, private donators, and funds (like Solidaritietsfonds, Haëlla stichting, Alexander & Otto and stichting Mundo Crastino Meliori). The project leader is the chair of a committee with Israeli and Palestinian members. These ‘local committee members’ are former seminar participants. The committee is responsible for preparing, implementing and evaluating the program and for recruiting, selecting and preparing the participants of the three groups. Every couple of years, a meeting takes place between the Dutch board and the Israeli and Palestinian committee members, sometimes in The Netherlands and sometimes in Israel/Palestine. Through the website and a two-yearly newsletter the Dutch supporters are being informed about the work.
Mission and Objectives

The main objective of the foundation is to organize dialogue seminars on neutral ground in which Israeli and Palestinian youth can meet and get to know each other, based on equality and without any political purpose. COME Foundation wants to facilitate an open dialogue between the participants.
With the organization of these seminars, we hope to give Israeli and Palestinian youth six opportunities, which can be seen as the six sub-objectives of COME Foundation. We wish to provide them a safe space in which they will have:

the opportunity to meet, which in daily life is difficult and not always possible;

the opportunity to express what people are really concerned about;

the opportunity to experience and see the human side of the conflict and to look differently at  the other and at the situation;

the opportunity to hear and understand the interests, impact and motives of the other;

the opportunity for self-examination and reflection;

the opportunity to broaden one’s perspectives, which can be applied in daily life.
The seminars create safe spaces for participants to develop a more hopeful perspective on their often difficult situation, in a crucial stage of their life and in which there is nearly no significant mutual contact between Jewish Israelis and Palestinians. By organizing these seminars, COME wants to convey its multiple commitment to both sides.

Main Projects / Activities

Yearly the foundation organizes an 11-day dialogue seminar on neutral ground for 30 Israelis and Palestinians. The seminar takes place in Cyprus. The Dutch project leader has the end responsibility for the seminars, but content-wise the Israeli and Palestinian committee members (former participants) determine the program and conditions for participation. The Palestinian and Israeli committee members also recruit and select participants, who are recruited by word of mouth. Participants become ambassadors of the seminars. During the intensive 11-day program, participants get to know each other, learn about the different narratives, discuss what is on their mind, reflect on their own position, and sometimes become friends. The program consists of different activities, developing from personal acquaintance to national and political knowledge, and using several techniques like small group discussions, big group discussions and personal appointments for 2 or 3 people.
Every two or three years, a meeting takes place between the Dutch board and the Israeli and Palestinian committee members, to get to know each other and discuss in what direction the organization should develop.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

COME Foundation will contribute to the network by sharing our experience and knowledge that we have developed in more than twenty years of organizing seminars and meetings for groups that are hostile towards each other.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

COME Foundation wants to join the ALF Network to develop and expand our experiences and knowledge, to share it with other members, and to learn how other organizations deal with certain issues. Workshops or instructions about fundraising will be very useful as well.

Every year, through our big contact network we send about 60-80 people to different international projects, exchanges, seminar in all world. For so young organization its big number, because in Lithuania international meetings its just starting to be more popular.A lot of people do not know about these big opportunities. 5) Partners are city municipality, universities, schools and a lot of different organizations.
Mission and Objectives

The main aim of AKTYVISTAI is to gather a company which would not only realize itself and its ideas but would also spend their free time. The association is open not only for the youth but everyone who likes an active lifestyle, is positive, looks for friends or wants to teach or learn something new. It is also possible to test yourself in various activities, find new friends, have a good time and even to earn some experience. Our attitude involves being ACTIVE, POSITIVE and ENJOYING life. We are trying not to limit our activities to one direction, allowing people of different ideas to express themselves freely. For this reason, we will encourage people to implement their own or their friends’ ideas. This will help to perform our tasks more effectively; our members will be better motivated and active and the internal atmosphere of the association will be more balanced.

Main Projects / Activities

For a few years when AKTYVISTAI association was being found, its founders, their friends, acquaintances and recommended people were actively participating in international projects and meetings. Our members represented Lithuania in over 40 various international events which created plenty of opportunities. At the end of 2013, together with experienced organisations from foreign countries we are about to establish a worldwide network of organisations, which will be designed to educate people using our experience and time-tested practical trainings. We want to encourage our young people to get involved into these activities or at least to try this type of projects as it might give them a chance to travel, get acquainted with other countries and their cultures and get some interesting experience.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

The founders of the association are nine good friends and colleagues who earned each other’s trust over the years in various events, projects and other activities. Each of them has a different yet useful experience which, we are sure, will contribute to our success and good results. Some of them are entrepreneurs (businessman) so for good idea should be not difficult to get some support. Also they can help with contacts and their friends. It is very important in such small country like Lithuania. In our City Kaunas, we like organization,like people, have close contact with city municipality.If You need, we can be Your information distributor (source) for Lithuania or Kaunas city, because we know and have good contacts with a lot of organizations. By the way, in 5-7 years or our experience we have many different contacts in all Europe, so we believe that we can be really useful for this network too, with our contacts, our good and positive energy, our big experience and huge activity or energy ;) If You have any question please write.

General Information
Voice by Voice is a grassroots organization, non-profit, non-religious, non-political, led by a team of 6 persons (1 Danish, 1 German, 2 Israelis, 2 Palestinians). The structure is not yet formalized legally. So far no funds. Our aim and project is to video interview people about personal experiences in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, presented on our website. In relation to this: workshops in Israel and Palestine. The following organization have expressed partnership (in the process of being documented): Holy Land Trust, Bethlehem. So far all is built from voluntary work, no employees. We hope to be able to employ a part time daily leader in 2014, and to pay a small salary for the production of each video clip.
Mission and Objectives

Our mission is to contribute to transparency in the conflict in Israel and Palestine, by holding a space for personal experiences of the conflict. Much of the available information on the conflict is about dramatic events, solutions and politics, whereas we aim to provide personal information. From this information, we trust that understanding and a sense of community will emerge, and from that common solutions towards sustainable peace in the region. To support the persons telling their story, and our whole work in the project, we use Nonviolent Communication. Our aim is to add video to video and hold the space for more and more voices, until enough understanding and community is generated.

Main Projects / Activities

Our team of 6 persons make video interviews with people who are influenced by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. An interview usually takes 2 hours. It can be people who have contacted us through our website or have otherwise heard about the project, or it can be people that WE ask to share a personal experience related to the conflict. The interview is edited to a 5 min.s video clip and published on our website. In this way a forum for sharing personal consequences of the conflict system is held, for stories to inspire stories, especially in the non-blaming way they are told with Nonviolent Communication. On the website, people can comment on the videos. So far we have 13 video clips on our site, the 14th is on the way. A further prospect is to have the website and all video clips subtitled in English, Arabic and Hebrew, to ensure equal language access to the material (so far all is in English only). http://voice-by-voice.org. Please see attached budget for planned activities.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We have been uncertain about where to apply for membership. We want to stay both-sided in the conflict, so we don't want to only join a network in either Israel or Palestine. Since it seems we can't choose both, we have chosen Denmark. We are aware that our field of work is not directly in Denmark (although the conflict is worldwide), only when it comes to addressing Danish interest in peace building, human rights and democratic development in the Middle East and playing a leading role in that, but also a Danish interest in mere cultural exchange. NB: We have asked the ALF office (by email) what network to apply to, but have received no answer yet.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We want to join the ALF Network to get access to inspiration, partnership and funding. We reckon that there might very well be similar projects and activities and we want to get to the synergy of sharing ideas. Voice by Voice is a new project and organization and we have much to learn in building our organization and project.
