Scientific advisor at the institute for Political Science at the Hungarian Academy of Science and founder and president of the board of the ISES Foundation. He is a Jean Monnet Professor and holds a UNESCO Chair in Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainability at ISES. Academic program director of the Institute for Global and European Integration Studies at the Corvinus University Budapest, he has published widely on civil society and Eastern European democratic transition.
