Mission
- To ensure the participation of the most distinguished literary creators from the region and from Europe;
- To maintain continuous communication and cooperation with the prestigious international manifestations;
- To prepare the annual activity programme of the manifestation, which ensures that the manifestation lives throughout the year thanks to the periodic organization of appropriate content;
- To distribute the programme contents in the whole territory of Montenegro;
- To carry out the programme of cooperation and exchange with other similar manifestations on the regional and international level;
- To improve and develop the cultural and creative sectors in line with the international standards.
Objectives and priorities
The main objectives and priorities of the Ratković's Poetry Evenings aim at conceptual strengthening which would:
- Provide a high-quality representation of the contemporary Montenegrin and world artistic creation, which corresponds to the artistic tendencies of the 20th and 21st century in Europe and beyond;
- Build an open platform for different ways of institutional and professional cooperation with similar institutions in the region, Europe and beyond;
- Create a strong creative and information hub in Bijelo Polje, which would be a relevant partner in domestic and international cooperation projects, contributing to artist mobility and circulation of artwork;
- Carry out an open and wide-ranging pedagogic activity which would complement and enhance the general education and skills of the audiences, by involving art academy students and relevant experts with specialized knowledge;
- Enable the historical, theoretical and critical research and analysis of the contemporary artistic practices in Montenegro, and beyond.
The main objectives and priorities of the Ratković's Poetry Evenings aim at conceptual strengthening which would:
A homage to the Montenegrin writer Risto Ratkovic, the literary award Risto Ratkovic is awarded the best poetry book published between the two editions, together three awards of to the poetry written by poets under 27. In addition, Ratković’s Poetry Evenings every year publishes the book of the awarded young author and a poetry anthology the countries participating in the manifestation. Apart from the regular programme held in Bijelo Polje, many participants were presented to the audience in the Montenegrin municipalities of Mojkovac, Berane, Cetinje and Podgorica. The event has received the official status of a cultural manifestation of great importance for Montenegro in 2010.
