Lunaria is a non-profit, non-confessional and independent association. It carries out research, training, and communication activities on fair economy and third sector, migrations and globalization. It promotes international volunteering and youth policies initiatives. Through its activities it experiments new forms of active participation and social transformation inspired by the principles of justice and social solidarity, democratic participation to community life, respect of civil, social and human rights.
1. Over 400 young Italians a year to international voluntary work camps and 400 foreign volunteers to work-camps in Italy; mid and long-term volunteers with Euromed and EU partners.
2. Senior and inter-generational volunteering pilot projects.
3. Co-ordination of the Venice Informagiovani (Youth Information Centres) network and management of the Mestre Informagiovani for youth information as tool for the promotion of participation and active citizenship.
4. Research, information and documentation on the themes of social economy, ethical finance, and third sector. Consulting service for NGOs, training courses for young graduates, professionals, social and community workers on the third sector and forms of alternative economics.
5. The Sbilanciamoci! campaign: in co-operation with over 40 major Italian NGOs and universities, conferences, seminars and yearly reports on peace/war, international relations, third sector, welfare, environment and labor, with alternatives to publi
