The mission of Estonian National Commission for UNESCO is to serve as a liaison and coordinative unit between UNESCO and people, institutions and organizations concerned with the activities of UNESCO in Estonia; to create possibilities for the main institutions interested in educational, scientific and cultural matters in Estonia to be connected with the work of UNESCO.
The four major areas in the work of UNESCO are: education, science, culture and information and communication technologies (ICT). There is a major programme for each sector, except for the sector of science the programme of which is divided between natural sciences and social and human sciences. In its activity Estonian National Commission is guided by the areas of activity of UNESCO.
Estonian National Commission for UNESCO can contribute to the network by creating possibilities for co-operation between schools in different regions through the participation of Estonian ASP schools.
We believe that joining ALF Network would help UNESCO ASP Schools and other schools interested in UNESCO issues to organize joint projects and create further possibilities for co-operation globally.
