Main Projects / Activities

Center Rog is a new creative hub focused on the cultural and creative sector in Slovenia and abroad with emphasis on design, architecture, engineering, and crafts. Center Rog’s experience and activities involve the development of the brand-new facilities itself, with 9 production labs equipped with state-of-the art technology and highly trained technological staff available for mentoring. Together with our partnership network we organize different workshops, training courses, summer schools, residencies etc. for children, creatives, organisations, businesses, professionals, or complete beginners. Currently Center Rog employees 30 mentors who are all highly experienced craft experts, catering to the needs of more than 1200 members of Center Rog community.

Center Rog is currently one of the partners in a CREA funded programme titled Made in Platform for Contemporary Crafts & Design. This is a research, design, and heritage initiative encouraging collaboration and knowledge exchange between traditional craftspeople and contemporary designers, as well as other experts in the fields of culture and science. The aim of the project is to highlight new material research approaches and other design processes related to topics like the degradation of natural resources, extraction, and models of sustainable production.

We organize a yearly international event titled RogDesignDays where we explore sustainability challenges through a youth creative sprint, a forum with like-minded organizations, and an exhibition of products developed in our production labs.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

Center Rog would like to support and promote intercultural dialogue and search for new possible partners and collaborators. Every year we publish an international call for programme partners focusing on educational activities, summer schools, creative workshops etc. We wish to develop lasting exchange programmes with organisations offering creative residencies. Finally, we are also open to partnerships in developing new EU funded projects.
