On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, URI MENA Office, in collaboration with Qudrat Association and Desert Bloom, orchestrated an engaging seminar  titled "Together for Peace" on September 23, 2023 in Mafraq, Jordan.

The event featured enlightening discussion sessions on the following key topics:

• Renouncing Violence:
• Exploring avenues for peace by denouncing violence as a means of conflict resolution.
• Bottom-Up vs. Top-Down Approaches to Peace:
• Analyzing and contrasting the effectiveness of grassroots initiatives versus top-down strategies in promoting peace.
• A Holistic Approach to Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding:
• Examining comprehensive methods for preventing conflicts and fostering sustainable peace.

The seminar attracted a diverse audience, including civil society activists, academics, university students, and international volunteers, all eager to engage in meaningful conversations about the pursuit of peace and conflict resolution.

From October 6th to October 8th, a dynamic three-day youth camp was held in Jordan, addressing the vital theme of "Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding." This enlightening event was jointly organized by URI MENA and Desert Bloom, members of the ALF Jordanian Network. It brought together enthusiastic young individuals from diverse countries in the MENA region, who convened in Amman to engage in meaningful dialogues and discussions centered around the crucial topics of peace and conflict resolution.

The camp's agenda spanned a wide spectrum of subjects, encompassing aspects of identity, diversity, peacebuilding, and much more. To make the learning experience interactive and engaging, the camp utilized games and group exercises that allowed participants to internalize their newfound knowledge.

To foster an environment of trust and open communication, participants initially participated in various team-building exercises and ice-breaking games, facilitating the development of connections among attendees. The camp then employed the "world café" method to establish a common understanding of key concepts relevant to conflict prevention and peacebuilding. Participants, in rotating small groups, brainstormed and deliberated on the meanings of essential terms, such as White Supremacy, Populism, Xenophobia, Violent Radicalization, Socioeconomic Inclusion, Conflict Transformation, Peacebuilding, Community Resilience, Reconciliation, Moral Imagination, and Restorative Justice.

انطلقت في الثاني والعشرين من شهر ابريل فعاليات المؤتمر الدولي للثقافة الإعلامية والمعلوماتية MIL and Global Understanding: Peace for All  برعاية الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية في مقر الجامعة ، بمشاركة عربية ودولية . وكان لمركز الإعلاميات العربيات جلسة بعنوان كيفية توظيف المعرفة في التربية الإعلامية وطرق التحقق.

ترأست الجلسة الإعلامية محاسن الإمام رئيسة مركز الإعلاميات العربيات حيث أكدت دور مركز الإعلاميات العربيات في مفهوم التربية الاعلامية منذ عام2003، وأشارت إلى الدورات التدريبية التي نفذها المركز للشباب والمرشحات لمجلس النواب وقائدات الجمعيات والاتحادات النسائية بالتعاون مع اليونسكو ومنظمات دولية أخرى.

الإعلامية سوسن مبيضين تحدثت عن تجربة الأردن في نشر مفاهيم التربية الإعلامية الرقمية والتدريب عليها ودمجها في التربية والتعليم وأوضحت الإعلامية د.عاليه ادريس أهمية التحقق من الأخبار وتتبع المعلومة من مصدرها الأصلي. من جهتها استعرضت هاله طنوس منسقة برامج الاتصال والتواصل في المكتب الوطني لليونسكو في فلسطين تطبيقات مفاهيم التربية الإعلامية في فلسطين وتجربة الإعلاميات الفلسطينيات في غزه.

وجرى في الجلسة التي شارك بها مجموعة من خريجي خريجات وأكاديميات إعلاميه نقاش حول التربية الإعلامية توصلت فيها المشاركات إلى مجموعة من التوصيات تلتها الإعلامية ميسون الخطيب عضو مركز الإعلاميات العربيات من أبرزها :

١. اوصىت المشاركات ان يعقد المؤتمر القادم في عمان بالشراكة مع مركز الاعلاميات العربيات والتعاون مع اليونسكو لاستكمال تنفيذ التوصيات في كافة الدول العربيه.

٢.تفعيل مواثيق الشرف الإعلامية والالتزام بتنفيذها .

٣. إقرار برامج توعوية وتثقيفية في القوانين المختصة بالجرائم الالكترونية

٤. تعريف بعض المصطلحات والمفاهيم المتداولة على شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي وذلك بإصدار دليل يتداوله الشباب .

وفي نهاية الجلسة قدمت الإمام درعاً تكريمياً يمثل حضارة وتاريخ مدينة مادبا للدكتور سامي طايع المستشار والمنسق للتحالف الدولي في اليونسكو .

عقد مركز نحن نشارك في عمان 26 حزيران 2024، الحفل الختامي لمشروع نزاهة" تعزيز الحكم الرشيد والمشاركة على المستوى البلدي"  بالشراكة مع مركز الحياة راصد والوكالة الاسبانية للتعاون الدولي من أجل التنمية

حيث افتتح مدير عام مركز نحن نشارك الأستاذ محمود الصبيحات الحفل وتحدث عن أهمية المشروع والذي يهدف الى اشراك المجتمع المدني في الحوار مع السلطات العامة من خلال نهج تشاركي يسمح بالتعبير عن الآراء والاهتمامات وتمكين منظمات المجتمع المدني والمنظمات المجتمعية والشباب في تعزيز المسائلة الاجتماعية والتأثير على عمليات صناع السياسات ووضع المعايير مشتركة وبرامج لبناء قدرات المجتمع المدني والنظمات المجتمعية لتحيق حوكمة أفضل ، وسيعمل المشروع على تعزيز الحوكمة الرشيدة ، تعزيز المسائلة الاجتماعية والنزاهة ، تعزيز المشاركة العامة والشفافية، واستعرض احد مخرجات هذا المشروع وهو" دليل مؤسسات المجتمع المدني المحلية في تعزيز الشفافية والحوكمة في العمل البلدي"

وتحدث رؤساء البلديات المشاركة عن دورهم في المشروع وعن اهميته في تعزيز الحوكمة الرشيدة وان البلدية تسعى الى تحسين التواصل مع المواطنين برفع الوعي حول دور البلديات وادوارهم والتحديات التي تواجههم من خلال مساحة اسبوعية في اذاعة البلدية للحديث عن المواضيع ذات الصلة بالمشاركة العامة.

On Wednesday the 17th of January 2024, the Jordanian Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation organized a productive consultation meeting dedicated to generating innovative initiatives for empowering youth across different regions of Jordan. The session brought together 32 members from civil society organizations, resulting in the successful creation of impactful projects designed to benefit young people in the North, Middle, and South areas of Jordan.

Our main objective during this meeting was to collaboratively design three distinct initiatives for youth empowerment, each specifically tailored to address the unique needs and challenges of many areas of Jordan. By concentrating on diverse areas, we aim to develop more inclusive and effective programs that respond effectively to the distinct circumstances of each region.

The Amman Center for Human Rights Studies (ACHRS), member of the ALF Jordanian network, received the United Nations Prize for Human Rights for the year 2023, on the occasion of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The news was published on the United Nations websites by Chaba Kuroshi, President of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Thursday, July 20, at the United Nations building. The center was selected with four winners from among more than 400 nominees for this prestigious award.

Founded in 1999, ACHRS is an independent, regional, scientific, advocacy center for studies, research and training on human rights issues and democracy. The organization has had special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2006.

In pursuit of contributing to the dissemination and understanding of human rights, its work and activities are aimed at strengthening civil society in Jordan and in the Arab region, and at inducing a change to the general level of awareness and sensibility towards human rights and democracy.

The projects carried out by the ACHRS mainly concentrate on training for democracy and human rights as they are closely related and highly complementary. Conducting studies and research to serve as an informational basis is a further means for ACHRS to achieve its goals.
