General Information

Bidizelen is an organization dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and education in North Macedonia. Our structure includes a dedicated team of 10 staff members and a network of 15 active partners across various sectors. Our budget is sourced from government grants, private donations, and project-based funding from international organizations. We implement various modalities of action, including concrete projects focused on environmental awareness, educational exchanges, seminars, and scholarships for youth engagement. Our main partners include local schools, environmental NGOs, and governmental institutions committed to sustainable development.

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is to develop values and principles for sustainable development and to enable education and practical solutions for environmental protection. We aim to foster environmental awareness and sustainability among young people and communities in Republic of North Macedonia, promoting green practices and enhancing ecological education while facilitating active youth participation in environmental initiatives. In addition, our objectives include creating awareness about pressing environmental issues and providing practical tools for sustainable living. We work to build a network of environmentally conscious individuals and organizations, fostering collaboration that amplifies our collective impact. Through advocacy and community engagement, we aim to influence policies that support sustainable practices and environmental education.

Main Projects / Activities

Youth Environmental Activism: This initiative aims to empower young people to engage in environmental activism by providing them with the tools and resources needed to advocate for change. Bidizelen organizes training sessions and campaigns that equip youth with knowledge about pressing environmental issues and effective advocacy strategies. Participants are encouraged to develop their own projects or campaigns that address local environmental challenges, helping to cultivate a new generation of informed and active environmental leaders. Educational Exchanges: Bidizelen facilitates educational exchanges that enable students and teachers to learn from each other while exploring different approaches to environmental education. These exchanges provide opportunities for participants to visit different regions, engage with peers, and share best practices in sustainability. By fostering cross-cultural dialogue, these exchanges aim to enhance the understanding of global environmental challenges and encourage collaborative solutions. Community Clean-Up Campaigns: Bidizelen organizes community clean-up campaigns to address litter and pollution in local areas. These campaigns invite community members of all ages to join together to clean parks, rivers, and other public spaces. In addition to the physical clean-up, participants receive education about the impact of waste on the environment and the importance of maintaining clean surroundings. The campaigns aim to foster community spirit and awareness while promoting collective responsibility for the local ecosystem. Each event concludes with a discussion on sustainable waste management practices to ensure that participants understand how to reduce waste in the future. The EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal is a dynamic initiative that combines film and environmental education to engage young people in conversations about sustainability and climate action. This project organizes film screenings that highlight important environmental issues, followed by interactive discussions to foster awareness and inspire action among youth. The initiative hosts film screenings in various locations, bringing together students and educators to watch carefully selected European films that address themes such as climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable living. After each screening, participants engage in facilitated discussions that allow them to share their thoughts and learn from guest speakers, including environmental activists and experts in sustainability. The Clean Airdrom: Zero Solid Waste Municipality project is a transformative initiative aimed at creating a sustainable and clean environment in the Airdrom area. This project addresses the pressing issues of waste management and air quality by promoting a zero-waste approach that encourages responsible waste disposal and recycling among community members. The initiative involves various activities designed to educate and engage the community on the importance of reducing waste. Workshops and seminars are organized to inform residents about effective waste separation, composting, and recycling practices. Community members are encouraged to participate in local clean-up days, where they can actively contribute to maintaining clean public spaces.
