Ecole Cooperativa Sociale ETS comes to light the 01/01/2024 when the previous Cooperativa Sociale Cigno Verde (founded in 1989) merges with the Cooperativa Gruppo Scuola (founded in 2004 from the over-30-year-long experience of the anonymous Association, it shares the same cultural roots, methodologies and projects with). It has over 250 employees of which around 50 working in the educational area of it. With over 1mil euro turnover, the great part of its income comes from public funding, by carrying out and managing projects and activities mostly for the city of Parma and its province. Besides the collection of waste as primary productive activity, the educational area promotes the personal development of citizens (of all ages but mostly youth) through a great number of different activities, among which concrete projects, psychological support, youth exchanges, trainings, seminars, etc.
Working together and merging the two souls of ECOLE (one more educational - former Gruppo Scuola - and the other one more socio-rehab-oriented - former Cigno Verde) the new Ecole wants to help building a more sustainable and inclusive future, where education, work inclusion and care for the environment are elements of connection. Our mission is to promote inclusion and social empowerment through educational actions and activity and to favour and support people with fragility to enter the job market by eco-sustainable and environment-friendly project to respect our planet and territory.
Focusing on the educational area, our main projects include: - the management of several youth centres in the city and in the province of Parma through ever new and innovative engagement techniques (from digital to sport, to FabLab, to farming and - wood - DIY works - the management and coordination of educational learning-by-doing labs in schools and in the youth centres (focused on digital skills and sustainable solutions) so to "contaminate" formal education with informal approaches - the management and coordination of seminars, exchanges and training activities having educational innovative techniques as key topics
ECOLE can contribute to the Network with our experience in several topics and our innate push to innovation in the educational field. Having already a wide national and international network built over the many years of Erasmus+ projects, we can also enrich it network by inviting new reliable and experienced organisations to join it.
We want to join the ALF Network as we evaluate it as very valuable to share good practices, learn and teach innovative techniques and keep growing in our professional skills and competence, in order to be able to face the ever global challenges we are and will be facing in the future. A global network will help us opening our horizons and become ever more inclusive and effective in our educational responses.
