THE THEMATIC MEETING ON YOUTH, WOMEN AND SOCIAL INNOVATION WAS HELD IN ESKİŞEHIR

Anna Lindh Foundation National Network Meeting was held in Eskişehir, Vecihi Hürkuş Aviation and Technology Park on December 9, 2023, with the participation of the foundation members.

 

The program started with the opening speech of Dr. Necdet Sağlam, continued with presentations prepared within the scope of Gender Equality Perspective, Women and Education in Turkiye, Social Innovation Group Report and Youth Unemployment. The presentations were made and reported in general for the purpose of identifying and eliminating the sources of the problems and determining the solutions.

 

Following the presentations, feedback was received on the topics presented with the active participation of valuable guests, evaluations were made and consultations were held on the planned projects.

General Information
mainly 7 persons employed. Also our foundation has about 20,000 voluntaries and they work in our foundation according to their profession. We have also 4 main groups namely Energy sector, construction sector, agriculture sector and informatics sector. Last year we applied successfully EU Giant project namely Golden Bracelet Vocational and technical Training. Also it was selected successful project by IS-KUR among 100 projects.

2023 Presidential Circular ''The year of Mevlana'' has been announced. ALF Türkiye network member Eskişehir Mevlevihanesi Culture and Education Association started the project. They are implementing the Symposiums in schools (primary-middle-high school), with the participation of local artists in certain squares of the city and with photography awards, Eskişehir. Photography awards will be given on the occasion of ''2023-The Year of Rumi'' in commemoration of the 750th Anniversary of the death of Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi. Stating that the activities will be carried out with the relevant public institutions and organisations under the coordination of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Logos, posters, announcements, invitations and similar visual documents related to the events will be used in accordance with the corporate identity to be determined together with the relevant institutions. The expenses of the events to be held will be covered by the relevant public institutions and organisations. 

The objective is to  create awareness about Mawlana Celaleddin-i Rumi and The Mevlevi Order, all Mevlevihanes located all over the world, places, people, and objects related to Rumi and the Mevlevi Order will be used as the subject of the photos.

General Information
1.TÜSEV is a network organization for the nonprofit sector formed in 1993 by Turkey’s leading foundations. The TUSEV network is comprised of over 100 Turkish foundations and nonprofit organizations. TUSEV employs 5 full time and 3 project based professionals. It has 11 board members and 1 tax consultant on retention. 2. In 2008 the yearly budget was approximately 720000 TL (approximately 480000 USD) 3. The foundation’s main sources of funding are approximately 35% from donations of network members, 20% from interest gains on endowment, and 45% from project funding (other foreign donors). The foundation currently has no income generating activities. 4. The Foundation’s modalities of action are organizing meetings, seminars and conferences, providing training sessions and conducting in depth research on the legal framework, philanthropy and the third sector in Turkey. 5. Among TUSEV’s international partners are European Foundation Centre (EFC), International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR), World Alliance for Citizen Participation (CIVICUS), International Center for Not for Profit Law (ICNL), European Center for Not for Profit Law (ECNL) and Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).
Mission and Objectives

TUSEV’s main objectives are to:
- Promote a legally and fiscally enabling environment for nonprofit organizations,
- Encourage strategic and effective giving,
- Facilitate partnerships across the public, private & third sectors,
- Support and engage the international community in learning about and collaborating with the Turkish third sector,
- Conduct research on the sector's role, needs and dynamics to serve as a basis for civil society strengthening initiatives.

Main Projects / Activities

TUSEV’s programme areas are as follows:
• Civil Society Law Reform: TUSEV is enabling Civil Society by informing and updating on legal and fiscal issues for the Turkish third sector, promoting mechanisms to increase CSOs participation in the policy making process, conducting independent policy analysis and advocating for reform, analyzing and monitoring of reform implementation and supporting implementation/capacity building for CSOs and governments in adapting to new legislation and processes
• Social Investment: TUSEV seeks to inform stakeholders (existing and potential donors) about strategic and effective practices, help create a more enabling infrastructure for social investment and philanthropy in Turkey, introduce and support the establishment of new mechanisms that enable the flow of resources to CSOs, such as community foundations and advise new donors and foundations on creating effective giving strategies under the Social Investment Program. TUSEV also promotes the community foundation model in Turkey and acts a community foundation support centre.
• International Relations and Networking : TUSEV is seeking to create common platforms to exchange best practices and to facilitate cooperation between Turkish civil society organizations, their international counterparts and donors. The Foundation is continually increasing its network of international partners. Most recently, TUSEV and Turkish foundations hosted the 20th Annual General Assembly and Conference of the European Foundation Centre in 2008. In 2010, the International Society for Third Sector Research Biannual Conference will be hosted by TUSEV in Istanbul.
• Research and Publications : TUSEV aims to undertake critical research initiatives on issues regarding the third sector and generating useful data and reports that will help to inform practitioners and promote dialogue among all stakeholders. TUSEV has conducted several research projects in cooperation with international partners the Ford Foundation’s “Philanthropy for Social Justice in Muslim Societies” and CIVICUS Civil Society Index Country Report for Turkey (2005 and 2009).

General Information
TOHUM Autism Foundation (TOF) is established on April 15, 2003 as a non-profit, non governmental civil organization with an aim to lead and disseminate early diagnosis and social integration of children with “Autism Spectrum Disorder and Pervasive Development Disorders (PDD)” via special education, throughout the country. The vision of Tohum Autism Foundation is to ensure early diagnosis of “Autism Spectrum Disorder ” in Turkey and to ensure fulfillment of health and educational needs of diagnosed children and their families in line with the world standards. Tohum Autism Foundation has many programs with National Ministry of Health and National Ministry of Education, has set up a model school with the know-how of PCDI (Princeton Child Development Institute) in USA. Projects:
• Autism Screening Project, 2005: made in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and with the grant of EU. With this project, Tohum Autism Foundation made screening in 5 pilot cities: Izmir, Bursa, Adana, Kocaeli and Gaziantep.
46 000 children (babies from 18 to 36 months old) were screened via M-CHAT and CHAT tests as a result of this project.

EU Funding
• Promoting Full Participation of Children with Autism in the Society, by Improvement of Physical Independence, Mobility, Through Education, 2007: The EU Grant, taken under “Strengthening Civil Society in the Pre-Accession Process: NGO Grant Facility” was used to train teachers of Counselling and Research Centres on children with autism in Bursa, Adana, Gaziantep, Kocaeli, Izmir and Istanbul. Ministry of National Education was collaborated to run the project. Two other NGOs, one from Bursa (Bursa Otistik Çocuklar Eğitim Derneği) and one from Adana (Adana Otizm Derneği) were Tohum’s Project partners.
Project lasted 12 months
EU funding:
• Implementation and Policy Recommendation to Increase the Effectiveness of Inclusive/Integrated Education Practices in Turkey, 2010: In collaboration with Education Reform Initiative (ERI), and with the support of Sabancı Foundation, the Project was implemented in 3 pilot schools in Istanbul.
Project lasted 18 months.
Sabancı Foundation Funding:
• Increasing The Number Of Children With Autism Attended To The Pre-School Education By Creating An E-Learning Portal For Parents, 2010: Project aims to increase pre-schooling rate of children with autism through setting up a user-friendly e-learning portal.

• Strengthening Special Education in Turkey, 2011: Tohum is a consortium partner in the Technical Assistance Team of this project, which will last for 30 months.
• Teacher Trainings in Education Centers for Children With Autism (OÇEM), 2011 With the support of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and in collaboration with Provincial Directorates of Ministry of National Education, Tohum wants to increase the capacities of OÇEM teachers in Istanbul. To reach this aim, the Foundation gives training and supervision to these teachers.

Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Funding
• Increasing the Productivity of the young people with disability and integrating them in Labor Market, 2013
With the grant taken from Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA), a vocational high school is constructed in one of the most crowded district in Istanbul, Beylikdüzü, training autistic individuals on business skills. Tohum Autism Foundation supervises this program and develops Turkey’s first business curriculum for autistic individuals.

Istanbul Development Agency Funding:

Supported by The General Consulate of Netherlands MATRA Fund, the project aims to provide parents of children with autism with introductory knowledge on autism as well as basic skills to interact with children with autism.

• My Tablet Speaks for Me I, 2013
Supported by the USA Consulate, the main aim of this project is to improve the education quality of children with autism in Turkey via technology use. The uses of new technology have been introduced as a method of teaching to the students with autism and their teachers and parents. (Tohum 1 via Apple store)
Project lasted for 11 months.
US Embassy Funding:
• My Tablet Speaks for Me II, 2014
Supported by the USA Consulate, the main aim of this project is to improve the education quality of children with autism in Turkey via technology use. The uses of new technology have been introduced as a method of teaching to the students with autism and their teachers and parents. This is the second part of “My Tablet Speaks for Me” and focuses on object matching, body parts and actions. (Tohum 2 via Apple store)
Project lasted for 9 months.
US Embassy Funding:
• Increasing Education Opportunities for Autistic Children by using Technology, 2014
With the support of Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA), and in collaboration with Provincial Directorates of Ministry of National Education, Tohum forms a special online game, which helps children learning basic concepts. This game will be available via web site, android and IOS tablets. (www.tohumegitim.com )

Financed by E.U, To support the independent living of people with developmental disabilities (mental disabilities and autism) through supporting them to go out in the street; therefore contributing to the equal citizenship of disabled people in the society.

• Special Education Class in Saint Joseph High school, 2014
For the first time in Turkey, a private school establishes a “Special Education Class” for autistic individuals, ages between 14- 21 years old. Private Tohum Autism Foundation Special Needs School supervises and shares know-how about special education and curriculum.

Mission and Objectives

Unity; The development of ethical values of family and individual members, the smallest unit of national traditions and society, and the scientific and cultural advancement of our people to contribute to social, cultural, educational, intellectual, artistic, democracy, children's rights and women Rights, nature, conservation work, economic advice and guidance , Sports activities and air sports. The inhabitants of Tokat come together to live and to live in the culture and traditions of local and regional traditions.
It organizes the scientific and educational qualities and activities of national and international conferences, seminars, symposiums, conferences, congresses and similar, and includes various scientific publications including national and international activities. Main Projects / Activities

Our Association protocol with Tokat KOSGEB Services Department "Applied Entrepreneurship" organized trainings in 2014 and 2015.
Personal development, business and social life communication, training, CNC, 2 and 3-dimensional drafting and professional design, and CAD/CAM courses.
As for the provincial publicity completed in 2014. "Four Seasons" made aerial shots of the project. The air in many cities of our country led to the photographed.
2014-1-TR01-KA102-009202 accepted by the Turkish National Agency "Vocational and Technical Education Students Gaining Business Experience in Europe" project was successfully implemented.
Tokat Governorship Directorate of Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation was coordinator of the consortium in the project 2015-1-TR01-KA104-020614 "Methods and Monitoring of Implementation Used in Education for Disadvantaged Individuals in Europe" and our association was a member of the consortium.
Tokat Governor was coordinator and Tokat Municipality and Tokat Economic Develoupment and Vocational Training Association were members in the consortium, The Central Black Sea Development Agency (OKA) supported the project "Contributions to Social Entrepreneurship in Tokat Vision" and consortium completed it successfully.
Turkish Youth and Sports Ministry accepted project of our association; GPDP No. 14 11 922 "The Future is in the Heavens" was introduced with young people with project aviation activities.
In 2015 in the province of Tokat, is one of two institutions to receive accreditation EVS.
Tokat and districts in 2016 in vocational and technical education schools “Human Resources Development and entrepreneurship” conference, were held in 20 schools.

General Information
Our institution aims at providing vocational trainings in professional fields, encouraging innovation activities for diversifying economic actions and enhancing conditions of competition , improving the spirit of collaboration among the institutions in our city , making swot analysises directed to our city and region , organizing meetings to improve the in field-usage possibilities of researches about the region and the city carried out by universities and research agencies. It is also focused on supporting having socio- cultural activities that boost up not only professions but also vocational activities.Our institution has the aim of providing our young people who have immigtared from Tokat city employ in the fields needed of our country by directing them to the fields where they will go on their professions. It prepares reports on deficiencies of Tokat economy and encourages the activities to attract foreign investors to Tokat by eliminating those deficiencies detected. Tokat Economic Development and Vocational Association is a non – govermental organisation that work with young people. Healthy development of individuals that form society is necessary for the health of society.The future of society is the young generation of today. In the process of identity development and socialization of young people, there are various factors that affect this process positively and negatively. A young generation that adopt the changings and developments in the process of social upheaval easily and fast and transfer them to their lives and form their lives considering them is the main point. They are under the effect of the process of this cultural change in every period of their lives. Our institution , with its studyings and activities , consists of useful social groups for the young people that we can reach and in this way, they are kept away from unfavourable occasions. It also has activities for awareness raising . It struggles with the negativeness of noncommunication between the young generation and the society. It supports the social developments of young people . It makes national and international projects to make them adapt the social environment in which they live. In short, the aim of our association is to support the personal, vocational and social developments of our young people.. There are human values and freeedoms accepted by the whole world. These are :LoveRespect CooporationToleranceJusticeDemocracyIntellectual freedomUniversal LawHuman RightsFreedom,CultureArtOur association motivate them to internalize these human values. It organızes workshops and picnics. The board of directors of our association has 5 permanent members and 5 substitute members and board of supervisors of our association has 3 permanent and 3 substitute members. It has adapted democratic governance. It is a non frofit, non- govermental organisation.
