General Information

The Iqraa Association for School Transportation, Development, Environment, and Solidarity is a nongovernmental, non-profit civil society organization founded by ambitious young individuals from the Al-Juhrah region on October 15, 2015. Its aim is to promote local and rural development in the AlJuhrah area and, by extension, in other rural areas of the region, setting an example for success. The organization seeks to promote a culture of collective and volunteer work, creating a space for the development of leadership, communication, creativity, and other skills among children and young people in the region, motivating them to contribute and succeed sustainably. Since its inception, the association has been dedicated to organizing educational, recreational, sports, and cultural activities for students, fostering their excellence, and appreciating various humanitarian actions, associative and environmental initiatives within the municipality. It has also provided literacy courses to accompany village women and girls, making them effective members of society and advocates for various issues in the region, such as school transportation and water access. Through its partners and the efforts of its members, the association has been able to extend its influence to the Al-Juhra countryside, both at the municipal and provincial levels. It is actively seeking permanent funding sources and additional partners to establish training centers for young people, women, and rural girls, enabling them to become more empowered and effective citizens. The organization aims to strengthen the principles of citizenship and voluntary collective work within the community and is enthusiastic about expanding its initiatives, activities, and programs to a higher level, reaching a national audience
